Government Relations
Global assists its clients in understanding and addressing the complexities of US Government regulations and legislation that could hamper or enhance the competitiveness and economic health of their businesses. We handle the complete range of Washington matters for our clients or assist them with one specific problem. In every case, our strategies are carefully developed in consultation with our clients and individually tailored to meet the unique needs and special objectives of each client. In some cases, Global becomes the client's de facto Washington office, charged with gathering and analyzing information regarding legislation and regulations, and then advising the client on their possible effects. We prepare confidential reports and analyses on national policy developments and on proposed laws and regulations on a regular basis. Global also provides government relations services in Tokyo, Beijing, Kyiv and selected other capitals with both industry and governmental perspectives.
Regulatory
Global's in-depth experience is international trade regulatory matters, including export/import regulations, U.S. Government "trade cases" (Section 232, 332, 337: anti-dumping and countervailing duty; WTO dispute resolutions; rules of origin: customs valuation, etc.. provide clients with expertise from both an industry and governmental perspective. Global also has expertise related to telecommunications and commercial aviation regulatory matters.

Coalition Development and Management
As part of a comprehensive lobbying program, Global can identify, contact and motivate a client's natural constituencies to stimulate their interest and secure their involvement in client issues, thereby providing strength through numbers. These constituencies, which then comprise an active support base, can include consumers, suppliers, locally elected officials, related industries, employees, and other organized interest groups. In addition, Global has organized and managed coalitions comprised of over 10-20 companies pursuing a common goal in Washington. For example, we successfully led coalitions to affect change in tort reform, export controls, Free Trade Agreements and health care.
